ROMANCE IN THE LIBRARY

Contemporary cake designer Malvern

Set in the midst of Oxford’s honey-soaked colleges, the Bodleian Library is a historic venue steeped in romance and elegance. It is to no surprise that Oscar Wilde and JRR Tolkein would spend their days studying here. This poetic setting entwines history and modernity, and acted as the perfect backdrop to tell our ethereal tale.

Drenched in architecture, our editorial piece was an ode to artistry. Warmth and ambience filled the air, with an earth-tinted blue tablescape and a timeless bridal silhouette harnessing both beauty and simplicity. Adorned with candlelight, enchanting dried blooms were painted in neutral tones, adding a subtle hint of nature against the grand stone-carved ceilings and arched windows that filtered in a peek of golden winter sunlight.

Our fine-art wedding cake mirrored this charming combination of decadence and minimalism, through layers of textured leaves in shades of antique white and blush rose, styled with soft florals. Perfect for this beautiful day in Oxfordshire.

“From the breath-taking elegance, stone-carved ceiling and dual-aspect windows of The Divinity School – to the charming carved-woodwork and fan-vaulted ceiling of Convocation House – every corner is adorned with dappled light and dazzling architecture, all located in the historic beating heart of Oxford.”
